Reclaiming the Divine Feminine

The Goddess lives within each one of us.

Working with the energy of the Goddess can help us to recognize Her within ourselves. She is the source of our transformation and power, our SHAKTI! Shakti is the Divine Feminine power, the creative energy that moves us to action. Connecting with the Goddess archetypes of warrior, lover, protector, creator and healer helps develop those aspects of ourselves. When we explore these archetypes we put conscious attention onto our inner worlds. How are these qualities showing up in our lives? What do we need a bit more of? What do we need a bit less of? Are we operating in the light or shadow sides of the Goddess?

Exploring the qualities of the Goddess is an easy way to bring Her into our everyday lives. Here are three things to try that each take ten minutes or less!

  1. In a five to ten minute yoga practice explore the grace of the Goddess Kuan Yin in every exquisite movement. Do one round of sun salutations focussing on extending the movements, flowing from one posture to the next with grace.

  2. Upon waking and before you get out of bed, think of three things you are grateful for in the moment. Gratitude is connected with the Goddess Lakshmi and is essential for creating a sense of abundance.

  3. Explore your femininity with the Goddess Aphrodite and live through your senses. Slow down and enjoy the pleasure of living in this human body. Experiment during your morning shower by fully experiencing the pleasure of the warm water, the sense of touch, the fragrances, breathing in the steam…

We reclaim the Divine Feminine when we honour ourselves and the divinity that resides in each one of us. When we intentionally take the time to notice and appreciate our own femininity, our own power, our connection to the Goddess. The following books are favourites of mine and inspire the questions: Are we in touch with our inner goddess? How is She showing up in our lives? Are we in balance or out of balance with each of Her energies? How can we reclaim our Divine Feminine power, our Shakti?

My invitation to you is to pay attention and notice where you see the Goddess within yourself, both shadow and light, softness and strength, lover and warrior. xo
